Gisbert Wüstholz

Gisbert Wüstholz is a German mathematician who obtained his Ph.D. from the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg in 1977, under the supervision of Theodor Schneider. His contributions are mainly in the area of transcendental number theory and diophantine approximation. He essentially contributed to the Analytic Subgroup Theorem which counts as one of the most striking results in transcendental number theory. He currently is Professor of Mathematics at the ETH Zurich.
